Peace Walk against Family and Domestic Violence

Yass High Students at the Peaceful Walk

On Friday, 6 December 2024, students and staff from Yass High School, in cooperation with Yass Rotary and Yass Police, participated in a peaceful walk against family and domestic violence.

The school was represented by our school captains Oliver Frean and Harrison Shanahan, SRC members, volunteer students, and staff members Mr Hardy, Mr Harding and Ms Bills.

Oliver's impassioned speech was particularly well-received.

The Rotary Club of Yass and Yass Valley Police have passed on the following message:

The Rotary Club of Yass, and the Yass Valley Police, thank the community for their incredible support. On Friday, 6 December 2024, a sea of purple could be seen up Comur Street as 150 members of the community participated in a peaceful walk to say NO to domestic and family violence. Upon reaching Coronation Park, walk participants settled into a shady spot to listen to our guest speakers.
