Anna Betts reaches the nomination stage for ARTEXPRESS 2021

A huge congratulations to Anna Betts for reaching the nomination stage for ARTEXPRESS 2021. ARTEXPRESS is an annual exhibition featuring a selection of outstanding student artworks developed for the artmaking component of the HSC examination in Visual Arts in NSW.

Anna’s Body of Work titled “We stand together in Isolation, under a grey cloud of uncertainty” is a series of three oil paintings on canvas. The artworks are a personal reflection of the last year and feature some of Anna’s closest friends. Each piece includes complex symbols, layered meaning and makes references to the works of Gustav Klimt, Vincent van Gogh and Malcolm Liepke.

Anna was one of only 575 students who were nominated across the state. This is an amazing achievement for Anna and YHS, fantastic work Anna!
