Homework Reflection Sheet

If specific homework is not set, classwork is finished, assignments are done and you are still wondering how to keep your brain active, you may wish to choose from the following activities:

  • read a book, a newspaper article or a webpage (or tell someone about something interesting you have already read);
  • play a card or board game with a friend or family member;
  • read a recipe and cook something for the family; visit somewhere in the local community: the pool, the library, the skate park, so our local resources are well used;
  • write to or ring a friend or family member you haven't seen in a while;
  • teach a younger sibling or friend how to do something new;
  • begin a journal or art diary to record your experiences or observations;
  • take a virtual tour of a place you would like to visit or visit a ‘brain gym' site.

These activities will feed your mind and keep you on your toes.

Or, you could complete the following reflection exercise which helps you focus on the day's teaching and learning and helps move your knowledge and understanding into your long term memory bank. Remember if you can start a habit of consistent study in the junior years, it will be much easier when the work becomes more demanding in the senior years.
