Yass High School provides quality education in a safe and happy environment. We strive for academic excellence whilst developing self-esteem, self-discipline and a strong social conscience. Policies and practice reflect a balance between discipline and welfare. Features of school organisation include: a diversified curriculum achieved through vertical integration where appropriate; small class sizes; a strong commitment to excellence in a wide range of extra curricula activities including band, drama, public speaking and debating; a strong commitment to personalised service in feed-back to parents; providing students with access to a wide vocational education and training program supported by an active local committee; an experienced, highly trained teaching staff; a wide range of services for students with disability including a specially staffed Support Unit; and academic standards that compare very favourably with schools of comparable size and situation.
Yass High School is the largest member of the Binit Binit Community of Public Schools, a group of schools committed to working together to provide the best possible education for all students.
Through partnerships with local businesses and organisations, we are working to improve our local community and support the growth of our students as active community members.
Proudly comprehensive, with an exceptional record of academic and sporting achievement, Yass High School offers both a broad curriculum and special programs which cater for all student needs.
